Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Debut film was released in 1996 “Khamoshi The Musical” starring Salman Khan, Manisha Koirala, Nana Patekar and Helen in Guest role. But tragedy is that the film was Box Office Flop despite having Chartbuster songs like Aaj main upar aasman niche, Aankhon mein kya, Bahon k Darmiya sang by top notch singers of 90’s Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kumar Sanu, Hariharan and Udit Narayan. Composed by Jatin Lalit. Lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri.

The film plot has similarity with recently won Oscar winning film CODA (2022) which is inspired from 2014 french film La Famille Bélier. The theme of the film was that a deaf and mute couple in Goa. They have a baby girl, Annie who is able to speak and hear. Annie’s life is divided into two worlds – one with her parents and the other of music, which she loves. Annie gets her musical inspirations from her grandmother, Maria Braganza (Helen). (Source: Wikipedia)

Bhansali has delivered few flops in his entire filmy career and Khamoshi is one of them but people will still remember this film because of its Chartbuster songs. There’s already a film name Khamoshi which was released in 1969 starring Waheeda Rehman, Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra but the plot is completely different from this 1996 film.

The list of songs is given below:

1. Aaj main upar.

2. Yeh dil sun raha hain.

3. Baahon k Darmiya.

4. Aankhon mein kya.

Before I Conclude just to add few lines, Every decade passes we able to see a new SLB in his work but one thing is contant that is romance.

Bye.

Krishna Kumar Kunnatha: the Voice of Youth.

2 kk’s of 2 different generations have ruled the music industry like a king and made the audience Gaga over them. You might be confused 2 KK ?? There’s only one KK and that is Krishna Kumar Kunnatha but you can’t forget the first KK who’s still ruling our hearts with his songs that is legendary Kishore Kumar. The one common factor about both the kk’s are that they are considered as voice of Youths and another common factor between them was that we can’t believe is their untimely demise they both died at their 50’s. They Both have delivered evergreen songs that we still love to listen and it will also entertain the future generations too.

But here the main concern is Krishnakumar Kunnatha who recently took his last breath at Kolkata after the completion of his Concert at Vivekananda College. His demise is truly unbelievable. This year can be considered as unlucky for the music industry and music lovers. We have lost Legendary Indian Singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Bappi Lahiri, Sidhu Moose wala and KK.

KK has delivered many popular songs which are available in YouTube, Spotify, Jio Saavn and Gaana Aap. As per Wikipedia the singer sang for more than 300+ songs across 10 languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Odia and many more.

My View on Anik Dutta’s Aparajito: The Undefeated (Bengali)🎥🎞️🎟️

Genre: Biopic

Directed by Anik Dutta

Writing and screenplay by Utsav Mukherjee

Cinematographer Supratim Bhol

Music by Debojyoti Mishra.

Cast: Jeetu Kamal, Saayoni Ghosh, Anjana Bose, Anusua Majumdar and others.

img courtesy: digit.in

Theme: Renowned filmmaker invited in a talk show organised by All India Radio where he shares his experience about his debut film the struggle and hurdle they faced while filming.

Anik Dutta came with yet another masterpiece “Aparajito” biopic on the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. Where the director shows the initial stage of Ray before entering into the world of Cinema. Many movie lovers know that Satyajit Ray used to work in ad agency where used to make sketches for books and different brands.

The entire film was shot in Black and white mode to bring a retro vibe in audience and Dutta successfully manage to create the exact vibe of Pather Panchali (Debut film of Satyajit Ray) in this film. Background score is perfect.

If I talk about the screenplay then it’s becomes slow in some scenes but that’s not a problem because sometimes to build a story on screen, screenplay has to slow down for the sake of good film.

Performance: In terms of performance Jeetu Kamal played the role as Aparajito perfectly on screen. There will be a battle in between audience and their mind whether they are seeing Satyajit Ray or an actor who’s portraying the filmmakers role undoubtedly perfect.

On the other side Saayoni Ghosh who portrayed as a wife of Aparajito Ray in the film and undoubtedly she performed very well it also gives us the message that behind success of every men there’s a women who stand behind him as a great support.

Other cast of the film did very well in their respective film. Anik Dutta showed each and everything in detail from casting to costume and making, art and background score. All Aparajito is worth to watch.

As I came to conclusion I want to share my experience firstly I have watched Bengali film in theatres after ages which made me nostalgic and secondly, when I visit to theatre what I noticed that audiences are approaching regional cinema more than bollywood films. Right now 5 regional films are running in theatre namely: Saunkan Saunkne(Punjabi), Aparajito(Bengali), Dharmaveer(Marathi), Sarkaru Vaari Patta(Telugu), Don(Tamil) and audiences are choosing their native language films and this made me very happy that people are supporting regional cinema and this legacy must continue.
